This was the second year of Race Of Champions Snow and Ice, held in Sweden and we were back to support this prestigious event across all of its digital channels. 2 years after the pandemic, this event saw ROC back to its former glory days with some of the highest viewing figures and engagement across social channels for years.

The greenest ROC yet – this year featured more electric cars than ever before. Porsche, Cupra and Audi all providing new race-bred concept cars for the event.

Teams of content creators, TV producers and event specialists from around the globe form the ‘ROC Team’ and Sagittarius has been its Digital ‘heart’ since 2010. The website, the live streaming, the social channels and even the software used to run the event have all been key parts of the brief for Sagittarius over the years.

Race Of Champions is an annual event that brings together the World’s most esteemed racing drivers to compete in a head to head race around a purpose-built track in a battle for the Nations Cup on the Saturday and the ROC Champion of Champions on the Sunday.

The track was built the week before on the sea ice at Pite Havsbad on the coast of north Sweden. As always it attracted some of the greatest names in motorsport including Sebastian Vettel, David Coulthard and Mika Hakinnen. The Nations Cup was won for the second time by team Norway’s Petter and Oliver Solberg with Matia Ekstrom beating Mick Schumacher in the final to be crowned ROC Champion of Champions.

Paul Stephen, group CGO said, “ROC is always a very challenging event and this harsh environment only makes that worse. Every year we are faced with different challenges with the cars, the drivers, the crashes, the broadcast schedule, the weather – all these factors mean our digital platforms have to adapt by the minute. It’s always an honour for us to be part of a very professional and international team to find creative solutions to these problems – working long days and late nights to ensure the event runs smoothly and looks good on screen and on-site. It is fun but as with all elements of elite sport, it tests our platforms and experience to the limit.”
