Ranking top industrial technology companies on their digital maturity and AI visibility.
Ranking top industrial technology companies on their digital maturity and AI visibility.
According to Remarkable’s Technical Authority Index 2026, the UK industrial technology companies with the strongest technical authority are Tektronix (4.7 out of 5), Graphcore (4.1), Siemens Digital Industries Software (4.0), AVEVA (3.6), and Ideagen and Ordnance Survey in joint fifth (both 3.5) — from twenty companies scored on ten measures visible from outside the business, with nothing self-reported.
Band 5 on seven of the ten measures and first outright on two: machine readability (61.2, the cohort ceiling) and task completion (93.8, twenty-seven points clear of the next company).
The highest AI discoverability score in the cohort (95.5) and second on local market voice (63.2); estate coherence is its one collapsed axis.
The most even profile in the cohort — the only company carrying no band 1 anywhere — and second on AI-claim credibility (77.0).
The highest AI-claim credibility in the index (83.3), plus second place on both machine readability and task completion; local market voice sits near the floor.
The highest digital conviction score in the index (71.1) and third on AI discoverability (94.0) — strong governance, less third-party evidence behind it.
Fourth on citation authority (51.5) and third on local market voice (60.0) — the two assets that take years to build — with mid-table machine readability.

The Technical Authority Index is a sector-specific framework for scoring digital advantage using only what’s visible from the outside. It ranks all twenty companies against ten metrics built to separate genuine technical authority from a website that merely looks the part.
Industrial technology is a documentation-led sale: the buyer is an engineer, and trust is won or lost in a datasheet or a CAD file long before anyone fills in a contact form. Most maturity audits weren’t built to see that, but ours is.
Ten metrics, each scored against the peer group of twenty.

Tektronix, with a composite score of 4.7 out of 5. Graphcore (4.1), Siemens Digital Industries Software (4.0), AVEVA (3.6) and then Ideagen and Ordnance Survey in joint fifth (both 3.5) complete the top six of the 20 UK-facing industrial technology companies ranked across ten measures. Each score is a band set against the other nineteen companies rather than an absolute grade. The full ranking and every company’s score breakdown are in the report.
No. Every score is built from independent, observable evidence — live AI-crawler testing via amivisibleonai.com, structured data and crawlability checks, Google PageSpeed and security scans against the national vulnerability database, live hiring data from applicant tracking systems, published annual reports, and academic citation records. No company in the cohort self-reported, paid for inclusion, or reviewed its score before publication.
Each company was assessed across ten measures — AI Discoverability, Machine Readability, Estate Coherence, Platform Modernity, Task Completion, Digital Conviction, Documentation Openness, Citation Authority, Local Market Voice and AI Claim Credibility — and given a weighted composite score. The report profiles the top six performers in detail and maps the specific gaps for every company in the study.
Good — bring them the report. It’s a scorecard, not a pitch. If your current partner can close the gaps it identifies, you’ve lost nothing but a read. If they can’t, you’ll know exactly what to ask for.
Yes. The ten measures apply to any industrial technology company, whatever its size or whether it makes, specifies or sells equipment. The clearest finding — that companies are easy to find but hard to buy from, with machine readability, task completion and local market voice lagging AI discoverability across the whole cohort — holds well beyond the 20 companies ranked.
