Sitecore Exposure Review Still on Sitecore XP? Find out exactly what that’s costing you.

A fixed-fee, two-week review of your Sitecore estate — version, patches, security exposure, licence position and your real options — written for the board as well as the dev team. £4,950, credited in full against any work that follows.

Which version are you on? Every Sitecore XP version is on a clock. Find yours.

Sitecore changed the rules on 1 June 2026: for any version in Extended Support, security fixes and production incident support are now a separate paid arrangement. Here is where each version stands today.

8.x – 9.3

Sustaining support only.

What it means

No security patches are available for your version at any price. Every vulnerability disclosed from here on is permanent. This is no longer an upgrade question — it is a risk-ownership question, and someone in your organisation is carrying it today.

10.0 – 10.1

Extended Support ends 31 December 2026.

What it means

After that date you are where 8.x and 9.x already are. Since June, patches on 10.1 have been a paid extra. The move to 10.4 or 10.5 may be a fortnight or a project — the review tells you which, in time to plan it.

10.2 – 10.3

Extended Support. Patches now chargeable.

What it means

Standing still now has a running cost. For most 10.2–10.3 estates the step to 10.4/10.5 is smaller than expected. The review quantifies it so you can decide with numbers, not assumptions.

10.4

Mainstream Support until December 2027.

What it means

A good position. The review is still useful if you are weighing SitecoreAI, inheriting an estate through a change of ownership, or want an independent view of upgrade readiness — but there is no clock on you today.

The problem Nobody is running Sitecore 8 or 9 in 2026 by choice.

We have reviewed hundreds of Sitecore estates. Behind almost every stalled upgrade is one of these — and usually two.

  • A quote that killed the project. An upgrade from 8.x is close to a rebuild. It was priced at six figures, lost to other priorities, and has been “next year” for three years.
  • The people who built it have gone. The platform is kept alive by one contractor or a retainer. Nobody inside can scope the risk, so nobody raises it.
  • Nobody wants the SaaS conversation. Every call to a vendor or partner seems to end in a subscription pitch and a licence uplift. Easier to stay quiet.
  • The risk is invisible until it isn’t. No patches means every new vulnerability is permanent. For regulated sectors that is an audit and cyber-insurance problem, not an IT one.
  • Your editors have stopped asking. Marketing is working in a ten-year-old authoring experience and has quietly given up requesting things.

Your options You have three doors, not one. We’ll tell you which is yours.

Most partners lead with the upgrade they want to sell. The review is built to give you a straight answer — including when the answer is “don’t spend the money yet”.

Upgrade to Sitecore 10.4 / 10.5

Lowest change, fastest path.

When it’s right

Keep what works, get back into Mainstream Support, and buy yourself time until 2027–2030. Right when the implementation is sound and the roadmap is stable.

Move to SitecoreAI

Highest capability, bigger change.

When it’s right

Sitecore’s SaaS platform (formerly XM Cloud) is where the vendor is investing. Right when you want to stop running infrastructure and the estate is ready for headless.

Re-platform

Only when the numbers say so.

When it’s right

Sometimes Sitecore is no longer the right fit. We work across Optimizely, Umbraco, Contentful and others, and we will say so if that is the honest answer.

What’s involved Two weeks. Half a day of your team’s time. No disruption to the live site.

  • Day 1 — Access and external scan. Read-only access to Content Management and hosting, plus a full external fingerprint of your public estate — every site, every domain.
  • Days 2–5 — Version, patch and exposure. Exact version and update level, open vulnerabilities, hosting and infrastructure dependencies (including legacy cloud arrangements inherited from former owners or agencies), and your licence and support position against Sitecore’s current lifecycle.
  • Days 6–9 — Complexity and cost drivers. Customisations, integrations, modules and content volume scored for upgrade effort — the things that actually decide what each option costs.
  • Day 10 — Options and recommendation. Three costed routes with realistic effort and timelines, our recommendation, and a 45-minute walkthrough with whoever needs to hear it.

What you get Everything you need to make the decision — and defend it.

  • Confirmed version and patch level, per site
  • Exposed-vulnerability register with severity
  • Security posture of the public estate
  • Hosting and infrastructure dependency map
  • Licence and support position, dated
  • Customisation and integration complexity score
  • Three costed options with effort and timeline
  • Our recommendation, in plain English
  • A board-ready one-page summary
  • Walkthrough session for your stakeholders

Why this price Designed to be a no-brainer, not a business case.

  • Priced to fit a discretionary budget. No tender, no procurement cycle.
  • Fixed scope and fixed price. No variables, no day rates.
  • No obligation to proceed with us, or with anything. The report is yours either way.
  • About the same as two days of a contractor’s time, and it answers a question a contractor can’t.

Why Remarkable The partner Sitecore customers come to when they want more from what they’ve already bought.

We have been delivering Sitecore since before XP existed. Platinum Partner, member of the Sitecore Global Partner Advisory Council with early access to the confidential roadmap, the largest sponsor of the Sitecore community conference — and one of the few teams that have upgraded Sitecore estates across every version from 6 to 10.

That history is the point. When we review your estate we recognise what we are looking at, we know what each route really costs, and we have no need to steer you towards a particular answer.

What Sitecore clients say

“We selected Remarkable because they understood our vision for how the website and digital strategy can play a key role in enhancing the service we provide our clients and helping the company to continue our growth over the next few years.”
“Working with Remarkable has been a high-trust relationship with shared accountability and open communication. They were on the ground with us at our main customer conference in Las Vegas with 24/7 support, and the launch went seamlessly. We can see significant improvements in time on page, reduction in bounce rate, and in conversion rates.”
“We chose Remarkable for two reasons — the personalities we met during the pitch process, and the deliverables we’d seen them provide for other customers. Remarkable really understood our customer journey and spent a lot of time getting under the hood before the project started. When we saw the visual designs, not the wireframes but the actual impact of imagery and animation, it made a few of us in the room take a breath.”

Before you book

Is this just a sales pitch for SitecoreAI?

No. Many reviews end with a recommendation to upgrade in place, and some end with “do nothing yet”. You get the option that fits your estate and budget, with the reasoning shown.

We don’t actually know which version we’re on. Is that a problem?

It is the most common starting point. Ask us for a free version snapshot and we will tell you what is visible from the outside within two working days — no meeting required.

What access do you need?

Read-only access to the Content Management server and your hosting console, and around half a day with whoever looks after the platform. We do not touch the live site.

We’re on 10.2 or 10.3 — surely we’re fine?

You are in Extended Support, which since June 2026 means paying separately for security fixes and incident support. The review tells you whether the jump to 10.4 or 10.5 is a fortnight’s work or a project — it is often the former.

Our hosting is tied up with a former parent company or old agency. Can you help with that?

Yes. Untangling legacy hosting, licences and support arrangements is part of the dependency mapping, and we have done it for organisations whose estate was inherited through a change of ownership.

Do we have to use Remarkable for the follow-on work?

No. The report and the recommendation are yours. If you do choose us, the £4,950 comes off the first invoice.

Who is the review for?

Anyone responsible for a Sitecore XP or XM estate on a version before 10.4 — typically Heads of Digital, Marketing Directors and IT leaders who need a defensible answer for the board.

How much does a Sitecore Exposure Review cost?

£4,950, fixed. That covers the full two-week review, the report and a walkthrough with your stakeholders. If you go on to work with us, it comes off the first invoice.

If we move to SitecoreAI, how long will it take?

A typical migration from Sitecore XP to SitecoreAI takes 20 to 30 weeks, depending on the number of sites, integrations and how much of the existing build carries over. The review gives you a realistic estimate for your estate before you commit.

Will we have to pay to upgrade our Sitecore XP licence?

Only if you move to SitecoreAI. Your existing Sitecore XP licence lets you run any version from 8.x to 10.x.
