There’s been a lot going on at Sitecore recently, to put it mildly. A host of new features have just been announced across XM Cloud, Content Hub, XP,  and Sitecore Stream, among others. 250 of them, in fact! And new features are continuing to be rolled out every week according to Chief Product Officer, Roger Connolly.

Sitecore have been listening to their customers and partners lately via workshops, roadmap sessions, a customer advisory board and the MVP community to hear about the features that customers really want, and have been using this feedback to inform the products and features that they have put resources behind.

A lot of this effort has been put towards integrating AI deep into the tech stack, with the aim of becoming the first “Intelligent DXP” that lets customers re-imagine marketing work from an AI-first perspective.

The vision is for customers to use AI assisted features to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their entire content lifecycle, from brainstorming, strategy, and creation, all the way through to channel activation.

Here are some of the big recent updates.

Sitecore Stream

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen more and more of the specifics being fleshed out for the first release of Sitecore Stream features.

At the centre of Sitecore Stream is a suite of copilots and agents that focus on everything from brainstorming, content generation, insights, brand chat, and variant creation.

We recently got a deeper look into the specific areas and features that Sitecore Stream has to offer.

  • Brand Kits – This feature lets you upload training data relevant to your brand so the tools can make their output as true to you as possible. The more training data you can give it, the better the output will be.
  • Copilots and agents (i.e. the ‘Assistants’ section) – These are the disparate tools that pull in the information you have fed your Brand Kit to help you brainstorm, create, and refine content faster than ever.
  • Agentic Workflows (i.e. the ‘Projects’ section) – A set of features that make it easier for teams to work together and get work done faster. Stream can identify gaps in your plan, suggest deliverables and tasks to help you succeed, and generally speed up review cycles.

Look at Brand Kits and Assistants as the yin and yang of the system and the Agentic Workflows as how the team gets the work done.

XM Cloud

As you’d expect, XM Cloud continues to see new features roll out at a steady pace. Here are some of the recent highlights:

  • Variant Creation – The tool can give you recommendations of different variants for your components and let you accept, reject, and even test the variants directly from the Page Builder.
  • A/B Testing – This is now native within XM Cloud which is a huge boost to the customers that have been calling for this since XM Cloud’s launch.
  • Marketer Dashboard – The Insights dashboard has had a big glow up and now covers so much more data than it previously did.
  • Site Collections – An improved and more visual experience for viewing, managing, and maintaining sites and collections.
  • Publishing Visibility – Better visibility into publishing queues, history, and scheduled releases.

XP

Sitecore Stream can work with XP as well as XM Cloud, although you will need XP version 10.2 or higher for it to be accessible. Features include AI-assisted content generation that lets you create content on your XP while being able to modify the length, tone of voice, as well as grammar.

Content Hub

Like with XM Cloud and XP, Content Hub also benefits from content and variant creation features, as well as a bunch of others, including:

  • Content creation – Like with XP, in Content Hub you can use AI features to create content while controlling and modifying the different elements of it.
  • Variant creation – Translate content for global teams to use in localised regional campaigns and experiences.
  • Visual Search – Find images for projects instantly by describing what you need or based on similarity to an existing image.
  • Grounded image tagging – Automated metadata tagging removes the need to manually tag your assets, which is a huge pain point for brands.
  • Public Collection App – Make sure that external partners and agencies have the most recent and correct assets for campaigns, products, and events.

Other new features across the DXP

Outside the core tools of XM Cloud, XP, and Content Hub, new features are also coming thick and fast, including:

  • Generative Insights in CDP – AI-generated reports that automatically uncover trends, insights, anomalies, and correlations.
  • Post-Experiment Actions in Personalize – Automate post-test actions by triggering tasks like traffic assignment or test termination.
  • Multiple conditions in filters in Personalize – Multiple conditions in filters enables easy, ad hoc logic building for precise targeting in tests.
  • Geospatial Search in Sitecore Search – Deliver location-aware content auto-sorted for relevance with geo-search.

Roger Connolly teased some of the stuff coming down the tracks, like AI-powered site creation tools for XM Cloud, AI-assisted briefs and intelligent content operations in Content Hub, and a “Bring your own AI” for brands that might have their own custom GPT already developed. Overall, there is a whole lot to be excited for if you are a Sitecore customer.
